Hello friends! We are back on the blog to share book reviews, fitness tips, and just mind dumps if needed. I created this blog along with my old Instagram, "wellandfitt", to spread positivity on fitness, wellness and nutrition as a Certified Personal Trainer. I began my career as a personal trainer, and realized the toxic gym culture was not my cup of tea. If you want to learn more, read my old blog post titled "Why I left Esporta". Long story short, that career path was not for me, I started working for a non-profit, moved and lost the private gym our apartment complex provided, and lost the ability to film comfortably in a gym space. This changed my "content" and style of posts, and I started to lose my creativity spark due to he limitations.
Fast forward, I took a social media two month break at the beginning of this year, and feel back in love with reading. This was something I loved and valued just as much as personal health and wellness, so I decided to combine the two niches into "wellreadandfit". I have been loving the bookstagram, community so far, and lean more towards sharing about books naturally.
I changed jobs but unfortunately, it was not a good fit being a field worker and a woman. I took a short break between leaving the company and getting married, so I am officially a wife, and focusing on starting my career AGAIN. Its frustrating but I know God has a plan for my career and I will be lead to where I am supposed to be. This time has allowed me to focus on what I love and reignite that fire in me since this year has been so freaking hard.. I can talk about that at a later time. Slowly, we are making our way back to where we need to be.
I started thinking about what I truly love, which is books of course, helping others, staying active, and being creative. I always found it hard to continuously craft due to lack of space, and lack of creativity. BUT, for my wedding, my Grandmother gifted me a Cricut which got the train rolling. Why not create an Etsy Shop? I've been wanting to for so long, but never quite knew where to start. Now I have experience in marketing, Canva, Abobe, and digital art from my last job, why not start with affordable bookish digital prints, bookmarks, and other items for the booktok and bookstagram community?
So, TheBookishBabeStudio was born. You can now find affordable and cute bookish prints on my Etsy page, and the other items are in the works. As we get the business up and running, I will be starting to do personalized bookish items and digital products to help make Bookstagram and reading more affordable. Bookstagram is really good at pushing to buy the new and greatest book, prints, décor, and merch, even though reading is meant to be accessible to all through local and online libraries. I hope to provide good quality products at a low cost for my bookish friends and future friends.
Again, my DM's are always open, and I want to know about you, your opinions, and what you want to see more of. I am grateful for you!
Until next time,
XX Rachel
